Colossal Costco + Gimme Toys!

Film is... ultimate. I could go on for hours about the industry, my favourite flicks, etc, however casual viewers may not realise what ACTUALLY goes INTO putting a film together!

There are all kinds of wonderful and retarded jobs, however, I think in the history that I have been given some of the weirdest tasks in crew today was definitely the biggest, most hilarious 'lol' of them all.

My friends James and Lochlan are shooting a film this weekend. I believe they have used the location before (they seem to like having their films set in the absolute middle of nowhere), but anyway it's out in the sticks past Geelong or something (or, Gee-that's-a-long-way-away, as I like to call it). I mentioned said film in my last post, as that's what the kimono is for.

Anyway, seeing as it's out so far, the entire cast and crew have to camp out for four days and three nights. Unfortunately seeing as I have to work I cannot attend. Poop. I just bought a new tent and a blow up double airbed and everything! And now I am preparing to lend them all of my camping stuff and filming equipment. Be CAREFUL with the 5D, guys! So we had to go buy the food today.

Yup. Costco. Nitty is a member so the two of us drove to the Docklands and met up with my friends Elle and Gemma. We got one trolley. If only we knew... In crew there's usually a props wrangler, or a few depending on the size of the production (what I started out as... it's like, the lowest hierarchy job of the art department). Anyway, I would like to now dub our efforts today as FOOD WRANGLERS! and KEEPERS OF THE TROLLEYS.

36 loaves of bread, 5kg of onions, 4kg of oranges, 48 muffins and we're only at the start of the list. 

Elle went to get a third trolley shortly after I went and got a second.
(216 bottles of water! 33 litres of milk!)

Budge was $700. Nicely conquered. Yes, I abbreviate most words in the filmmakers glossary but if there's one that I JUST CAN'T STAND it's "cozzie" ew ew ew never say that to me pls

 The receipt was over 1 meter long (a yard and 5/8ish)

After stuffing the heck out of Elle's car, Nitty and I raced down to Big W before they closed for some TOY SHOPPING!

As some of y'all may not know, I am an addict to all things cute, colourful, and made of plastic. Homg hombre. So a few weeks ago, Nitty was in the city and sent me picture messages of the most adorable little alien dolls EVER. Novi Stars! They're brand new (from the great outer space factory in the cosmos) and so far I've only been able to find them at Big W. They went on sale and I went and got the lot of 'em. They all have different special features.

 

I was then shocked and surprised to see that Blythe had hooked up with Littlest Pet Shop?! Apparently this happened eons ago and I, as usual, am late to the party. I just bought one though. Need SOME control in my life, ya know :P
